Models Inc. reminds me of Marvel’s early attempts to engage multicultural audiences (read: anyone not white and male) with “Sweet Christmas!” style characterization - an earnest attempt at creating a character to appeal to a wider audience, while clearly betraying the fact that nobody working on the book had ever met a black person in their lives. Similarly, the people behind the two-dimensional Models, Inc. characters make it pretty obvious that everything they know about women comes from watching Sex and the City.
