George W. Bush, children’s literacy expert and the most powerful man on the planet for eight years, nixed Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s Medal of Freedom award on the grounds that she was breeding a generation of Pagan sorcerers, according to the BBC.
There’s a simple solution, of course - drown her. If she floats, she’s a witch, if she drowns, give her the medal posthumously. You’d think Bush’s science brain trust - those guys who determined that global warming is just an urban legend - would have had no trouble coming up with that solution on their own.
