Captain America Stormtrooper

It's tempting to think that this cosplayer merged Captain America with the forces of the Dark Side to make a political statement, but if I had to guess I'd say he's just a hardcore fan with some excellent paint skills.

Batman: The Animated Series/Star Wars Mashup

Darth Bat, Emperor Joker (that was actually the name of a DC event several years ago), Penguin the Hutt are among the highlights of this Batman: The Animated Series/Star Wars mashup by Dean Fraser, though in my opinion none of them come close to Harley Yoda.

Here's the complete roster of the image:

- Darth Bat
- Emperor Joker
- Luke Nightwalker
- Robin-2D2
- C3P-Alfred
- Obi-Wan Gordon
- Rene Mon-Solo
- Chew-Bullock
- Princess Bat-Leia
- Harley Yoda
- Penguin the Hutt

Dark Horse Comics Announces FCBD Lineup

It's going to be a very Whedonesque Free Comic Book Day in 2012, as Dark Horse Comics has officially announced their lineup. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Serenity, and the Guild will all be on offer, along with a little property called Star Wars.

Here's more from Dark Horse:

First comes a special flip book featuring both Felicia Day’s gaming web series turned comic, The Guild, and Dark Horse’s best-selling comics continuation of Joss Whedon’s iconic television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Buffy has never needed a vacation as badly as she does now, with the world overrun with zompires and other fallout from Season 8. After an old friend suggests a relaxing getaway from all things that go bump in the night, it turns out to be harder than she could ever expect for a Slayer to get a day off!

Felicia Day, creator of The Guild, continues to bring on the funny with high jinks from her diverse group of gamers when the Guildies struggle to find a meeting place they can all agree on. A little in-game battle becomes the deciding factor, and the circle follows the decree of the winner: the beach?!

Next up is one of the biggest flip books we’ve ever published, when Zack Whedon brings you tales of the coolest guy in the galaxy and the most charming rebel in the ’verse! That’s right; we’ve paired Star Wars with Joss Whedon’s Serenity!

Han Solo and Chewbacca have a falling-out after a deal with their slickest—and shadiest—customer goes bad. But when the client gets designs on theMillennium Falcon, Han and Chewie present a united front that can’t be beat!

Meanwhile, Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds is no stranger to jobs gone wrong himself. But when the chips are down, he’s able to rely on the amazing, odd, and diversely talented crew of Serenity.

Dark Horse Free Comic Book Day 2012: Four great stories for the price of, well, none!

Free Comic Book Day hits stores on May 5, 2012.

Dark Horse Kicks off NYCC With Star Wars Announcements

Dark Horse Comics continued their tradition of being the first out of the gate with major announcements at New York Comic Con. Last year they announced their digital initiative at the Retailer's Breakfast, making them the first major publisher to announce a cohesive strategy embracing digital comics, and they also had tons of Star Wars news.

This year - more awesome Star Wars news!

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi is being called the "coolest Star Wars comic ever." No mean feat that, but with John Ostrander writing the series, taking place at - well, the dawn of the Jedi knights, I have no doubt it will live up to the hype when it launches in February 2012.

Other Star Wars comics include Knights of the Old Republic and Darth Vader miniseries, Knight Errant Series 3, and Star Wars: Blood Ties, which will apparently feature - SPOILER ALERT! - the death of Boba Fett.

Lastly, Dark Horse preemptively owned Free Comic Book Day 2012 with the announcement of a Star Wars/Serenity flip book.

Awesome Art: Yoda Destroys Predator

And the amazing thing is, Dark Horse has all the licenses it takes to make this into the greatest comic ever. All they need to do is get Lucasfilm to agree - FOX would sign on right away, it's a no-brainer for them - and sign Dogsfather to provide this epic artwork.

Predators: stay the hell out of the Dagobah system. Because Yoda will effing kill you.

Awesome Art: C-3PO Unleashed!

You can't be my inventor - that's impossible! It's on, beeyotch!

Threepio takes a decidedly more proactive stance than we've seen of him in the past as he unveils his kickass new eyes and shows Darth Vader the lightsaber skills he's been hiding all these years.

Star Wars Blu-ray Deleted Scenes Trailer

At long last, Star Wars is coming to Blu-ray in September.  Although both the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy will be available separately, The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) is the one to get, since it includes three bonus discs comprising over 40 hours of extra content.

The featurettes and behind-the-scenes footage are doubtless going to be awesome, but what has had fans buzzing ever since the set was first announced was the deleted scenes. LucasFilm teases the delete footage in this teaser trailer from Comic-Con.
