Comic-Con Marriage Proposal

True love blooms at San Diego Comic-Con, the coolest place ever for geek marriage proposals. So for the first 30 seconds, this is a supremely uninteresting video. Then, out of nowhere, it becomes the greatest thing ever. Its crazy! Just watch, trust me, it's a beautiful moment in geek love.

'Doctor Who' Comic-Con Panel [Video]

The Doctor Who panel was one of the biggest draws at Comic-Con, and it did not disappoint, as Matt Smith and Karen Gillan clearly loved being among the fans and charmed the crowd. If you missed it, you're in luck, as BBC America filmed the event.

Spoiler alert: plot points from the episode "A Good Man Goes To War" are discussed. If you haven't seen it yet, I strongly suggest you do so before watching this.

JLE (Justice League of Estrogen) Strikes Again!

I approve of this on so many levels. The beautiful reverse-gender Justice League, who you might remember from when they rocked WonderCon, are back with more sizzliing pics from SDCC. Even as DC Editorial is scaling back on female characters (not to mention creators), its comforting to know we've got real-life heroines, patrolling the cons and keeping the world safe and awesome.

'Green Lantern' Animated Series Preview Clip

There's Hal Jordan, in all his CG glory, from the Comic-Con preview clip for the upcoming Green Lantern animated series on Cartoon Network. My initial impression is that while the series looks action-packed - always a good thing - Bruce Timm's amazing character design and flair for architecture that worked so well on Batman, Superman, and Justice League Unlimited, neither needs nor benefits from a CG update. Hal looks a little bit like a Nintedo Mii, and it just kills me because Green Lantern has just come off of a critical and commercial failure in the theaters - and as usual, the tie-in game was a dud - and a poorly executed animated series would be a multimedia trifectat of fail. And the Green Lantern Corps, frankly, deserves better.

Check out the trailer, and let me know what you think.

Star Wars Blu-ray Deleted Scenes Trailer

At long last, Star Wars is coming to Blu-ray in September.  Although both the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy will be available separately, The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) is the one to get, since it includes three bonus discs comprising over 40 hours of extra content.

The featurettes and behind-the-scenes footage are doubtless going to be awesome, but what has had fans buzzing ever since the set was first announced was the deleted scenes. LucasFilm teases the delete footage in this teaser trailer from Comic-Con.

'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Comic-Con Trailer

Most of the promos for the upcoming Rise of the Planet of the Apes have focused on the calm before the storm; the lab experiments conducted by James Franco in a search for an Alzheimers' cure that inadvertently makes Apes super-intelligent and super-pissed.

The newest trailer, from Comic-Con, takes us right to the heart of the action, the titular rise of the apes. It's pretty awesome, and a teensy bit spoiler-ific. If you don't mind the spoilers, check out the action, and let me know what you think.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes premieres in North America on August 5.

'The Flaming C' Trailer

What began as a gag when Conan O'Brien met with DC Animation god Bruce Timm last December... continued as a gag at Comic-Con. Coming sometime to someplace, maybe, it's The Flaming C!
