Dark Horse Kicks off NYCC With Star Wars Announcements
Dark Horse Comics continued their tradition of being the first out of the gate with major announcements at New York Comic Con. Last year they announced their digital initiative at the Retailer's Breakfast, making them the first major publisher to announce a cohesive strategy embracing digital comics, and they also had tons of Star Wars news.
This year - more awesome Star Wars news!
Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi is being called the "coolest Star Wars comic ever." No mean feat that, but with John Ostrander writing the series, taking place at - well, the dawn of the Jedi knights, I have no doubt it will live up to the hype when it launches in February 2012.
Other Star Wars comics include Knights of the Old Republic and Darth Vader miniseries, Knight Errant Series 3, and Star Wars: Blood Ties, which will apparently feature - SPOILER ALERT! - the death of Boba Fett.
Lastly, Dark Horse preemptively owned Free Comic Book Day 2012 with the announcement of a Star Wars/Serenity flip book.
