So I've taken some comics writing courses...

And I've learned less about writing per se, than I have about the state of the comics industry, from the perspective of working professional writers and editors, as well as that of the current readership and, of course, aspiring writers.  It's been a little surprising, and a little depressing.

And I've recorded a CinchCast about my adventures in storytelling lessons!  Hope you enjoy it, and if you've had similar experiences - or different ones, and want to share your stories or just sound off about my little monologue, please hit me up in the comments!

Super-Kate! Yeah, you heard me. Next on Sanctuary.

So, Kate is now the host to an abnormal.  That means she's all powered up and more than a little conflicted about what to do with her new abilities.  She could become a major force for good, or go all Doctor Doom on us.  You saw Spider-Man 3, right?  Anyway.  This will be more enjoyable, but it's the same kinda deal.  Alien entity grants powers, confusion follows.

Here's a clip:

The new episode of Sanctuary, titled "Hero 2: Broken Arrow," airs Friday (November 12) at 10:00 p.m/9:00 p.m. Central on SyFy.

Sands Of Time Running Out For New 'Dune'

via Deadline.com

EXCLUSIVE: A ticking clock situation is playing out at Paramount Pictures over the sci-fi classic Dune, one that is emblematic of how studio infatuation for branded fare has brought with it the added burden of pleasing rights holders who not only get gross deals but also a big say in how movies are made and released. Rumors raced recently that Paramount would end four years of development on the Frank Herbert novel by putting the project in turnaround. I'm told that's not true, but the studio will be done with Dune by next spring if it hasn't firmed a production start by then.
