It wasn't so long ago that the X--Men were the undisputed coolest team in the Marvel Universe, and Joss Whedon and John Cassday's Astonishing X-Men was the best title on the stands. Their run on the title consisted of two awesome story lines, the second of which is set for release as a motion comic DVD. Dangerous introduces Danger, current X-Club member and formerly the world's deadliest workout room. She's just that hardcore. Astonishing X-Men: Dangerous hits stores on April 10.
The Ultimate Spider-Man animated series is set to premiere on Disney XD on April 1, alongside season two of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Writers and producers include Brian Michael Bendis, Paul Dini, Joe Casey and Joe Quesada. Voice actors include Drake Bell as Spider-Man, JK Simmons reprising his role from the Spider-Man movies as J. Jonah Jameson, Chi McBride as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Steven Weber as Norman Osborn, and Stan Lee as, um, Stan the Janitor.
Check out this trailer for the upcoming second season of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I don't want to spoil it for you, but I see at least three major characters making their first appearances, and one major classic Avengers event in this clip, which clocks in at just over a minute. I'm very psyched for the second season of this series, which premieres on Disney XD on October 20. Check out the trailer below, and let me know what you think!
The English dubs of the Iron Man and Wolverine anime series are set to debut on G4 July 29, and Marvel has released this brief teaser clip for Iron Man - guest starring, appropriately enough, Wolverine. Synergy in motion, folks!
Marvel's latest direct-to-DVD animated feature, Thor: Tales of Asgard was released today on DVD and Blu-ray. Timed perfectly to coincide with Thor-mania, Tales of Asgard features the adventures of a young Thor, Loki and the Warriors Three as they search for the Lost Sword of Surter.
These days he takes on the likes of the Destroyer and Mangog with his hammer-hand tied behind his back, but the mighty Thor was once just a little munchkin godling who got into trouble with his buds in the Warriors Three.
It's this Thor that we see in the trailer for the upcoming direct-to-DVD Marvel animated feature, Thor: Tales of Asgard, in stores May 17.
Before he ever lifted his mighty hammer, there was the sword. Fantastic journeys beckon from the mysterious nine realms. Places of dark mists and fiery voids. Of winged creatures and giants in the ice. And the most alluring quest of all – the search for the legendary Lost Sword of Surtur. Hungry for adventure, Thor secretly embarks on the journey of a lifetime, joined by his loyal brother Loki, whose budding sorcery equips him with just enough magic to conjure up trouble, along with the Warriors Three – a band of boastful travelers reluctant to set sail on any adventure that might actually be dangerous. But what starts out as a harmless treasure hunt quickly turns deadly, and Thor must now prove himself worthy of the destiny he covets by saving Asgard itself.
If you're reading this, odds are that one or more of Marvel's multimedia masterpieces defined a fair chunk of your childhood.
Also, possibly adolescence.
Maybe Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is rocking your adulthood. There's no shame in it. What's shameful is that Tony Stark gave Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends a billion dollar, state-of-the-art crime lab that they NEVER USED!
Slackers.

Well, this looks like it's shaping up nicely. Disney XD released this promotional image of their forthcoming Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, from the supergroup of Paul Dini, Brian Michael Bendis, Joe Kelly, Steve Seagle, Joe Casey and Duncan Rouleau.
As previously reported, Heroes' Milo Ventimiglia has been cast as the voice of Marvel's English-language translation of the Wolverine anime, set to air on G4. The channel screened this promotional clip of the show, although as it's taken from the preexisting Japanese footage you won't hear Ventimiglia's take on the ol' Canucklehead. Instead, it's a good example of the show's action and pacing, and a chance to see Logan's controversial new look.
Logan's height, grace and popped collar aside, it's pretty badass. There's also a lesson here: don't bring an invisibility suit to a fight with a guy who has a keen sense of smell. It's pretty much useless.
