Before Watchmen: Minutemen Variant Covers

As long as you're spitting on Alan Moore and ethics in general, you might as well through in some nice variant covers and screw the retailers and speculators while you're at it. This is comics, after all, it's something of a tradition. With that in mind, here are some very nice looking variants for Minutemen #1.

Everyone Has Stuffy Noses on Doctor Who/Star Trek Variant Cover

The crossover event of the summer - apologies to AvX, which is just plain leaving me cold - is surely the Doctor Who/Star Trek: The Next Generation mini from IDW Publishing. Interestingly, there appears to be some sort of virus or allergen aboard the Enterprise, if this Forbidden Planet variant cover is any indication. How else to explain The Doctor and Picard looking like they've been sneezing all day? Even Data looks like he's seconds away from a sneeze, which - how does that work exactly? I look forward to finding out!

First up is this Youngblood #71 variant cover - its not known what's next, but I can't wait to find out. And I'm still holding out hope to one day see Chris G. on The Walking Dead.

Skottie Young's AvX #1 Variant Cover

Skottie Young illustrated this awesome variant cover for Avengers vs. X-Men #1 as an exclusive for my LCS, Midtown Comics. It's two-sided free-for-all done in his signature style, including bits he's already popularized on the web like li'l baby Magneto. It's a shame Skottie wasn't there for the early days of Star Comics, I suspect they'd still be around and kicking.
