Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Girl: Super BFFs

From Lauren Faust (Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic), here's a first look at Super Best Friends Forever, featuring Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Girl. DC's big three super heroines will be featured in Super BFFs animated shorts as part of Cartoon Network's DC Nation programming block.

Faust discusses her love of the characters and genre with io9:

I've been a comics fan my whole life. So I took what I knew of the history of Batgirl and Supergirl and Wondergirl. I just wanted to put together a superteam with the attitude of, 'It's fun to be a superhero.' And taking a real approach, a fun and funny approach to what it's like to be a teenage girl, and mixing that up with a superhero [story.]

DC Nation premieres Saturday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m. on Cartoon Network.

Wonder Girl Makes it to Page 2 of 'Teen Titans' Before Discussing Her Boobs

Teen Titans No. 2 Wonder Girl and Robin

Scott Lobdell is just all about the ladies as writer of DC's Red Hood and the Outlaws and Teen Titans. I'm a heterosexual youngish man who absolutely loves cheesecake, but I have got to say that the sexuality of DC's 'New 52' comes off as misogynistic, creepy, and somewhat ill-informed. I feel like these books are written from a perspective of an angst pre-adolescent who hasn't yet spent enough time with women to understand sexiness.

I'm looking at you, too, Judd Winick, though one suspects this is all trickling down from Dan DiDio's office. This panel from page two of Teen Titans #2, in stores tomorrow (October 26), suggests that the women of DC's 'New 52' are still stuck in the schoolyard.
