'Amazing Spider-Man' Merch Reveals Plot Point

This product image for a Mega Bloks set tie-in for The Amazing Spider-Man depicts an action scene from the movie, the rather generically named "Oscorp Tower FX Battle." Included wit the set are figures of Spider-Man, The Lizard, and "Swat Lizard," which would seem to confirm an earlier report from Big Fanboy that the villain, portrayed by Rhys Ifans, would transform an entire SWAT team into lizard hybrids like himself.

Another Look at The Lizard as He Appears in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'

Amazing Spider-Man Lizard

After first seeing an image of Rhys Ifans as The Lizard in in Pez dispenser form, here's another piece of movie merch adorned with what appears to be an actual photo of the actor as he'll appear in The Amazing Spider-Man. What do you think of the Lizard's look, and how are you feeling about the 2012 Marc Webb-helmed reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise?

Let me know what you think, in the meantime here's another of these plastic thingermabobs that probably cost like 30 bucks, this time featuring Spider-Man.

'The Amazing Spider-Man' Website Is Now Live

Amazing Spider-Man Website

The website for The Amazing Spider-Man has gone live. Check it out for a look at the characters (including notorious threat/menace Spider-Man, seen above vandalizing private property), the trailer, an image gallery and more.

Like most teenagers his age, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father held...a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story. On July 3rd, 2012, the untold story begins. And starring Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Denis Leary (George Stacy), Rhys Ifans (Curt Conners), Martin Sheen (Ben Parker), and Sally Field (May Parker), directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man movie is swinging into theaters in IMAX 3D!

New 'Amazing Spider-Man' International Banners

Following on the heels of the recently released poster for The Amazing Spider-Man, Columbia Pictures has released three new international banners for the film. Unlike the poster - and all promotional material for ASM to date - these new banners are rather bright and flashy. Check 'em out below.

'Amazing Spider-Man' Video Game Trailer

Amazing spider man game

It's Spidey vs. bigass robots in the trailer for the video game tie-in to The Amazing Spider-Man. I say "tie-in," not "adaptation," because based on the trailer, it's an open world action adventure that features a more seasoned Spider-Man than we'll see in the film, which is a retelling of the classic Spidey origin.

Also, no Lizard. So we're looking events taking place after the movie, though probably before the sequel. Also, we're hearing the name "Oscorp," presumably a portent of things to come in future installments of the Amazing Spider-Man movie franchise.

New 'Amazing Spider-Man' Poster Debuts

Check out this brand new poster for The Amazing Spider-Man, the Marc Webb-directed reboot of the Spider-Man franchise debuting July 3. I'm not sure what the tagline 'The Untold Story' is supposed to represent - is it suggesting that this is going to be something different than a by-the-numbers remake of the Sam Raimi films, or that it's going to veer dramatically away from the comics mythos?

Ether way, I'm sure we'll be seeing many more of these posters over the next several months.

'Amazing Spider-Man' Lizard Revealed! Um, As a Pez Dispenser.

Amazing Spider-Man Lizard Pez Dispenser

At last we get a look at how Rhys Ifans will look as The Lizard in the forthcoming Amazing Spider-Man. As with all great revelations, this one comes via Pez. The leaked image of Spider-Man and Lizard Pez dispensers is the first we've seen of Ifans as he'll appear in the Spider-Man reboot, due in theaters next year. It might be the angle of the photo, but The Lizard looks a tiny bit feminine to me. Like, a little bit chesty. Am I crazy? What do you think of the Lizard's look? Are you psyched for The Amazing Spider-Man? Hit me up in the comments.

New 'Amazing Spider-Man' NYC Photos

Amazing Spider-Man

Much like the citizens of the Marvel comics universe, I don't know how I'm able to walk around New York City every day without running into one superhero or another. They do seem to frequent this town, and so it's no surprise that Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man rolled into town last week to shoot some scenes for the movie about the hometown hero from Queens. Check out these shots of Andrew Garfield in costume as Peter Parker, and an early trial run of the Spider-Man suit, along with Rhys Ifans decked out with as Curt Connors, complete with icky Lizard-hand.
