Kevin Smith's 'Bionic Man' Preview

Another unmade Kevin Smith movie, another awesome-looking comic from Dynamite Entertainment. Smith's re-imagined Bionic Man, co-written by Phil Hester, will debut in September, featuring art by Jonathan Lau with Alex Ross on cover art duty. Check out this sneak preview.

New Series From Garth Ennis And Adriano Batista

via Bleeding Cool

This is a sketch from a new Dynamite book by Garth Ennis and Adriano Batista. Garth already writes the Boys and Battlefield books for Dynamite, Adriano draws Jungle Girl and Red Sonja – but this looks something different, possibly in the secret agent genre? Blood, women and guns, apparently…

Joe Mad Gets Mad On For Vampirella

via Bleeding Cool

Dynamite do like a good cover artist don’t they? Alex Ross, John Cassaday, Matt Wagner and now… Joe Madueira for Vampirella #1, with colours by Aron Lusen. Here’s a bit of it. A bit with Vampirella on it. The bit people like.

Last Phantom No. 1 Variant cover - also rather unsavory

So, after getting over my revulsion at Bleeding Cool's preview to Last Phantom No. 4, I sit down to read issue no. 1, to figure out what's really going on here, and lo and behold, check out it's icky variant cover:

Mmmm-hmm.

This series is lookin' like some kind of crazy adult anime.  I'm just waiting for the tentacles to start showing up.

I googled the original cover - this variant is one of Dynamite Entertainment's "Negative Art" covers, what we're seeing here is an inverted image of our hero, who is actually covered in blood.

There we go - now that's much more pleasant.

Variance: Project Superpowers No. 11

Alex Ross' super-sweet, art-only variant cover for Project Superpowers No. 11 - proceeds go towards charity (sorry, broke-ass retailers who had to order a kajillion Dynamite Entertainment books to get their hands on this don't qualify).

Marvel’s Nazi-Killers Get Alt-History Reboot in Invaders Now

Comics artist Alex Ross has teamed up with writer Christos Gage and artist Caio Reiss to resuscitate Marvel Comics’ World War II supergroup The Invaders for the new millennium. But who will they fight after the Human Torch kills Hitler? Themselves, of course. Ultimate Invaders - Alex Ross and Dynamite Entertainment keep trying this, with mixed results as far as story goes - but damn, Ross draws some sweet-ass golden age Marvel. Worst case scenario, this will be a book with art worth ogling. With Gage scripting, it might even be a great read!
