Awesome News 1: 'Astro City' Going Monthly

As became clear with the announcement of a 2012 Batman Beyond relaunch, the"New 52" #1 issues are not the end of DC's big plans. Yesterday, it was announced at the DC Retailer Conference in London, UK that Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson's Astro City will be an ongoing monthly title, launching some months after the big September launch.

Astro City, a groundbreaking title that comprised a universe all its own through its runs at Image, Homage, and Wildstorm, will remain a self-contained continuity despite being published under the banner of DC. At this point, I don't have a date, nor do I know if longtime cover artist Alex Ross will be on board, but I'm keeping an ear to the ground.

Marvel’s Nazi-Killers Get Alt-History Reboot in Invaders Now

Comics artist Alex Ross has teamed up with writer Christos Gage and artist Caio Reiss to resuscitate Marvel Comics’ World War II supergroup The Invaders for the new millennium. But who will they fight after the Human Torch kills Hitler? Themselves, of course. Ultimate Invaders - Alex Ross and Dynamite Entertainment keep trying this, with mixed results as far as story goes - but damn, Ross draws some sweet-ass golden age Marvel. Worst case scenario, this will be a book with art worth ogling. With Gage scripting, it might even be a great read!
