As many speculated, Marvel confirmed at WonderCon that the new Captain Marvel series will, in fact, feature Carol Danvers stepping up to the role and correcting Marvel's status as a publisher currently without any solo female hero titles, a problem brought about by the end of X-23. Kelley Sue DeConnick and Dexter Soy will take the reigns of Captain Marvel, which will launch in the aftermath of Avengers Vs. X-Men.

Not to be confused with Shazam, Marvel continues hogging the headlines with this teaser thingy promoting the upcoming return of Captain Marvel. More info is reportedly forthcoming at WonderCon.
