Hero or villain, Magneto is one of Marvel's greatest characters - a man who at his worst, has a pretty legitimate gripe with humanity, and at his best is a valuable member of the X-Men (he even took over as headmaster for Professor X's first class of New Mutants back in the '80s).

But whatever Magneto is - he's 'Not a Hero' according to the title of this new mini, written by Skottie Young with art by Clay Mann. It's going to be interesting to see how Young, a remarkable artist, fares as a writer. I'm already familiar with, and fond of, Mann's work from Age of X, so I'm all the way on board for this one.

Skottie Young does an adorable take on the Marvel mutants in their pre-school days in this art, which was used for the HeroesCon 2010 badges. Oh heaven help you if Magneto doesn't get his nap time, homo sapiens! A cranky mutant is a dangerous mutant.

That's time well spent. He ranges from grim and gritty to fun and goofy with pics of Yoda, Boba Fett, Han Solo and even that cute little Darth Vader kid from the Super Bowl commercial.
