Awesome Art: Harley Quinn

It's old school Harley Quinn, back when she was the true clown princess of crime, before the bizarre costume and personality changes brought about by the New 52. In short, before she referred to her ladyparts as a clown car.

Illustrated by Mariah Antill, who also does a mean Batwoman and Jonah Hex.

Awesome Art: Harley Quinn Re-Imagined

There's no shortage of controversy surrounding Harley Quinn's new look post-DC reboot. In fact, there's going to be a protest at Comic-Con, spurred in large part by her admittedly less-then-improved look as seen on the cover of Suicide Squad #1.

Next time, I hope DC lets artist Claire Hummel take a crack at Harl. Check out her awesome interpretations of the Clown Princess of Crime, and let me know what you think.

Their are only going to be 800 of these bad girls, styled after Harley as she appears in Batman: Arkham City. They will be sold booth #4398, for the five minutes or so that they last.

Arleen Sorkin out as Harley Quinn in Batman: Arkham City

Say it isn't so, Mistah J!

Arleen Sorkin, the original, definitive Harley Quinn from Batman: The Animated Series (and numerous other Bat-media, all the way through Batman: Arkham Asylum) will not be voicing Harl in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City.

No word on the reasons for Sorkin's departure, but we can take comfort in knowing that her replacement has an excellent comics pedigree: ladies and gents, meet your new Harley Quinn, Tara Strong!

Strong has a ridiculously prolific resume, but you probably know her as the voice Bubbles on The Powerpuff Girls, and more importantly she's deeply entrenched in the animated Bat-verse.

She was Barbara Gordon/Batgirl on Batman: TAS, Vicky Vale on The Batman, and most recently she's voiced The Huntress on Batman: The Brave and the Bold. She also appears as Lashina in the DC Universe animated movie Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.

Sorkin's departure isn't happy news, but there is every reason to believe that Strong will do Harley justice. She's talented, versatile, funny, and she knows her way around Gotham City. I'm confident she'll nail it and do right by the fans.
