Possible 'The Wolverine' Teaser Poster

It's not clear whether this poster is fan-made, or an official, has-yet-unreleased teaser. Screen Rant discovered it posted on Instagram, having apparently originally been photographed in the office of The Wolverine director James Mangold. Regardless of its authenticity, the image of Wolverine's claws slicing through a Japanese flag is pretty sweet and evocative of Logan's samurai roots.

'The Wolverine' Gets a Release Date

Hugh jackman wolverine

The long awaited follow-up to X-Men Origins: Wolverine has a release date. The Wolverine will open in theaters July 23, 203, opposite Lionsgate's Dirty Dancing remake and Disney's Phineas and Ferb movie. Tom Cruise's sci-fi flick, currently untitled but formerly known as Horizons and Oblivion, will open the week before, and assuming it has a title and a plot to speak of, it stands as the only movie that might give Wolvie a run for his money at the box office.

Hugh Jackman is returning as Wolverine for the movie, which will be set in Japan and is set to be directed by James Mangold.

Jackman Confirms 'Wolverine' Delay

Discussing The Wolverine at the UK premiere of Real Steel, Hugh Jackman confirms that production on the film will be delayed until at least late summer or early fall 2012.

It's pretty strange to hear Wolverine speaking with an Aussie accent, isn't it? Strange - yet vaugely familiar.

Hugh Jackman talks about the Wolverine Sequel at the Real Steel UK Premiere. Hugh has already played the near indestructible mutant super hero in three X-men films and the solo prequel Wolverine Origins.

Hugh says that he's eternally fascinated by the character because he's so dark, tortured and flawed. He admits that the reason he wants to keep bringing him to life on the big screen is because he doesn't think he's quite nailed him yet and wants to capture the character perfectly.

Hugh's next film will be musical Les Miserables but he confirms he will start shooting Wolverine 2 after that early next year.

Darren Aaronofsky Steps Down as Wolverine Director

This is grim news indeed for The Wolverine, which has a lot of making up to do for the damage done to the X-Men/Wolverine film franchise in X-Men 3 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Aaronofsky's appointment as director was a sign that things were looking up for the old Canucklehead, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, Aaronofsky is stepping down based on the grounds that completing the film would keep him out of the cuontry for too long.

Plus - Hugh Jackman is just nowhere near as hot in ballet clothes as Natalie Portman.

No word yet on who will fill Aaronofsky's shoes, but I'll cross my fingers and keep you posted.
