"Oh, hello Michael. I'm afraid I blue myself."
In perhaps the single greatest promotion for a DVD ever, this X-Men: First Class featurette goes behind the scenes of Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique make-up process. Basically she gets naked while six women cover her with layer upon layer of body paint for hours at a time.
It's uh - you know, good for research and stuff, so you might have some interest in this.
Seriously, it's pretty interesting to see how much old -school, non-CGI artistry went into creating the character (the Mystique makeup method has remained the same since it was first used on Rebecca Romijn in the very first X-Men movie), and I applaud everyone involved for putting in the work to make Mystique look awesome instead of turning her into a CGI smurfette.
X-Men: First Class hits stores on DVD and Blu-ray on September 9.
