The Washing Dead

The Gutters reminds us of the Walking Dead that might have been. I think it's fair to say that we, as viewers, dodged a bullet.

15 Walking Dead Moments We Can't Believe We'll See on TV

via Topless Robot

AMC has surprised us with some of the things they've shown on the first few episodes of their version of The Walking Dead. From killing zombie kids and the horse smorgasbord in the first episode to some of the more colorful language Michael Rooker's ultra redneck Merle Dixon spouted off in the second, it doesn't seem like Frank Darabont and company are worried about crossing too many lines with the series. But, the show hasn't even covered the ground of the first six issues of the comic yet and things get a whole helluva lot worse, with more graphic zombie attacks and some of the most disturbing human interactions ever put on the page.

The Walking Dead Is AMC’s Highest-Rated Show Ever

via Vulture

Don Draper: The Undead Years? Probably not going to happen, but maybe it should. Ratings are in for Sunday's debut of AMC's new zombie drama The Walking Dead, and they were, well, monstrous. Nielsen says 5.3 million people watched the 90-minute bow at 10 p.m. on Halloween, giving AMC its biggest audience ever for an original series, and far surpassing the numbers for network staples such as Mad Men and Breaking Bad. (The network's all-time draw remains the mini-series Broken Trail, which premiered to nearly 10 million viewers back in 2006.) Add in same-night repeats of Dead, and the show's premiere audience rises to just over 8 million viewers. What's more, Dead was particularly big with viewers under 50: Around 3.6 million in that demo watched, making the show the biggest cable-series premiere among the young folks this year

Digital comics milestone - are retailers becoming soon-to-be dead men walking?

Oh wow. Techland reports that the latest issue of The Walking Dead was sold on the same day, at the same price in both digital and print editions! While, from a consumer's point of view, that whole "same price point" thing is a complete rip-off, it's something of a milestone and a big step toward the inevitable digitalization of comics. I'm thinking a lot of retailers are feeling kinda like that picture: Frightened and alone, as an unstoppable force beyond their understanding encroaches menacingly from all sides.

Walking Dead poster revealed - features neither walking nor dead, discuss.

Or just take a good look, and get pumped for Halloween and the premiere of AMC's adaptation of Robert Kirkman's zombie comics opus.

via AMC.

Now then. After the scary monsters, what with Smallville leaving a void in young angsty heroes on the small screen, can we open up the floor to talks of an Invincible TV series?

Three new Walking Dead teasers - coming this week to TV, watch 'em here now!

Bloody good fun - three new teasers of AMCs upcoming adaptation of The Walking Dead, the comic created by Robert Kirkman, who thinks comics have gotten too dark.

Yup, that Robert Kirkman.

Walking Dead Trailer!

They live (well, not really)! They walk (shamble menacingly, anyways)!

Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead, a true horror comic classic and one of my favorite things to happen to comics over the past decade, is coming to AMC in October - and at last, we got a trailer!

It honestly looks better than I expected, and I expected a lot, so - really psyched about this one.
