'Dark Knight Rises' Casting Call in NYC

The Dark Knight Rises is casting for Gotham City Police and Military in the original Gotham - New York City, my home sweet home.

Here's the info on the open call, which is listed for a film under the pseudonym of Magnus Rex:

Grant Wilfley Casting, Inc. is casting extras for the new Warner Bros. film Magnus Rex. Producers state: “Take part in the urban action adventure coming to the streets of New York City.” Shoots Oct. 29-Nov. 11, 2011 in NYC.

Seeking—Extras: male and female, 18+, all ethnicities, no experience necessary, to play law enforcement within a city besieged by crime and corruption, specific roles include Guards, Soldiers, and Police Officers, seeking physically fit athletes, people with military and/or law enforcement training/experience, weapons training, and/or martial arts training.

'Dark Knight Rises' - New Batman Set Pics

Take a look at these new pictures of Christian Bale (and his stunt double) in full Batman regalia, taken on the Dark Knight Rises set in Los Angeles this morning.  Then, check some footage of a shoot that starts quietly but ends with a major explosion!

Juno Temple's 'Dark Knight Rises' Role Kinda-Sorta Confirmed

This latest comic book movie tidbit is likely to be true, though no truer than it was when it was first announced that Juno Temple was going to be playing a "street smart Gotham girl" in The Dark Knight Rises, and after some speculation, Batman fans generally agreed that in all likelihood, Temple would be playing Catwoman sidekick Holly Robinson.

It's now slightly closer to being confirmed, by internet standards. Keep in mind that's the same internet that told you a Danger Girl movie with Milla Jovovich, Kate Beckinsale and Sofia Coppola is totally happening, so if it turns out that Temple is playing Magpie or something, don't blame me.

Total Film magazine, in an interview piece with Temple, put it thusly:

"Then there's the big one-The Dark Knight Rises, where Temple plays "street smart Gotham gal" Holly Robinson. Speculation has it that her Holly is the young prostitute first seen in Frank Miller's Batman: Year One, and that she may be the sidekick to Anne Hathaway's Catwoman"

Now, that's what the magazine writes. We have no idea what the actual question to Temple was, or how it was worded. But we DO get her response:

"I can't talk about that. But I think it's going to be [frick]ing unbelievable. [Christopher Nolan] is awesome! There's something really gentlemanly about him. He's got an insane, incredible vision going on. Just getting the opportunity to work with him is awesome"

Disclaimer: I used to be an editor for an entertainment publication and that quote-without-context crap drives me crazy.

We have no way of knowing whether Temple was even actually asked about the role, or whether she's responding to the name 'Holly Robinson' in the above quote. That said, it's probably true, though not a whole lot truer than it was yesterday.

'Dark Knight Rises' Set Photos of Anne Hathaway in Action

An uncostumed Anne Hathaway kicks ass as Selina Kyle in these set photos from The Dark Knight Rises. These pics from the Los Angeles set catch Hathaway in action, disarming a knifed man while a young boy looks on - all while holding onto an apple.

Possible 'Dark Knight Rises' Batcave Sighting in Romania

This is most assuredly still in "rumor mill" territory, and by no means verified. However, it's clear that this awesome structure, built at the unfortunately named Turda Salt Mines in Romania are there for something big and cinematic. It's also been confirmed that the Batcave will be featured in The Dark Knight Rises, as a small-scale model has been built on a Warner Bros. soundstage.

Lots of unnamed, unverified sources would have us believe that what we're looking at is either another set piece, possibly used for detailed interior shots and/or vehicle loading. Like I said, all very unconfirmed, but they're building something awesome for somebody, and all available evidence points to that someone being Batman.

I'm inclined to think that we are, in fact, looking at a Batcave here. Check out the pictures (click to enlarge), and let me know what you think.

I, for one, think it's about damn time we started doing porn parodies a year before they're released! I mean at this point, we pretty much see the whole movie in trailers and "leaked" footage - and honestly, are we going to quibble over plot points while watching a movie with "Buttgirl?"

Damn it, she's dressed like Silver Age Buttgirl! Continuity fight!

Anyway, this particular clip is not an actual porn parody, but a parody of a hypothetical porn. I know, it's meta, right? Heady, intellectual stuff. Now watch Bane get "Banal", you sicko preverts!

'Dark Knight Rises': Catwoman Stunt Double Rides a Bat-pod

The Dark Knight Rises continues filming in Pittsburgh, where fans are getting some seriously awesome footage. This latest clip features a few vehicles, but mostly we get a close-up look at Anne Hathaway's Catwoman stunt double. She's riding what will either prove to be a Catmobile or a stolen Bat-pod, and appears to be having a great time. I've seen a lot of very unhappy people behind the scenes of awesome films and television shows, so it's quite refreshing to see that every single crew member appears to be smiling.

Listen for insightful crowd commentary like "she's drinkin' water!"

"Hey Brandeen! Get the young'uns, they're makin' one of them talkin' pictures what move!"

MC Anne Hathaway Gets Grimy On 'Conan'

Anne Hathaway can roll like Catwoman, and spit rhymes like you wouldn't believe. And yeah, all those leaked photos and videos, and being followed around the Pittsburgh set of The Dark Knight Rises 24/7? I could see how it might get to a girl.

An artist to her core, Hathaway has channeled her frustration into song, which she showcased on Conan on TBS last night.

"With all the stuff that's going on with Batman, the paparazzi attention's been a little intense," she said. 

"So I actually wrote a rap song about it; it's in the style of Lil Wayne."

Nothing like writing a rap song in the style of Li'l Wayne to vent your frustation. And Ms. Hathaway has mad skillz, as seen in this clip. Check it out!
