Cringeworthy Comics Ads from the '90s

"These ain't yer Daddy's comic books, fanboy!"

So says Lobo in an ad for DC comics from 1994 - ironic, since a lot of that era's names - both characters and creators - are the headliners of DC's upcoming reboot, which, like '90s holofoil covers, aims to convey the message that they're not your Daddy's comics either.

Presumably we'll be seeing lots of hashtags this go-round.

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"  - George Santayana
