Chuck Fans Flock to Twitter

There's no group quite as loyal as the devoted following of a hit genre TV show - and there is no group more sick of watching their favorite shows being marginalized, and ultimately canceled. Particularly bad sci-fi websites periodically run inane "Why We're Glad Firefly Was Canceled" pieces, a cynical but time-tested way of getting hits, even though they're from enraged fans who come to these sorry sites  just to tell them off.

It's worth noting that one of the worst offenders is a site owned and operated by the SyFy channel, itself inexplicably guilty of cancelling an inordinate amount of Sci-Fi television favorites - and also a property of the same parent company as NBC.

Unfortunately, and ironically, TV programmers are far less adept than webmasters at using quality programming to drive traffic, and it looks as though Chuck might take the fall for NBC's failure to appease advertisers.

The show's many loyal fans are fighting to keep the show from the jaws of oblivion, and they've taken the battle to Twitter.

From Wired:

The gambit is fairly simple: During airings of the show, fans send tweets to advertisers, like: “Just rewatched the last episode of #Chuck while drinking my daily @drpepper! Thanks for the Chuck support @pepsi!” The posts are then appended with the hashtag #NotANielsenFamily.

The battle cry has been sounded, Chuck fans - let tweeting commence!
